Civilus Defendus

SHE'S A ONE-WOMAN ARMY. The author of Citizen's Declaration and Plea of Relief, Civilus Defendus has written and posted the declaration, made it into a petition, which she has emailed, s-mailed, and faxed to Anti-Terror Caucus members, state representatives, Fox News, ACT for America, Center for Security Policy, and many anti-jihad bloggers including Robert Spencer and Bill Warner.

She also authored a piece called Why We Must Resist (PDF) and sent that to each member of the House Homeland Security Committee, chairs of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Sen. John McCain, and President Obama.

She is planning a trip to Washington DC this April (2010) to meet with federal electeds, Sue Myrick and others. She will hand-deliver 535 hard copies of the Call to Action which includes "Why We Must Resist" and the Citizens' Declaration, and a few copies of Liberty vs. Sharia. She'll be visiting several internet contacts on the East Coast for networking and brainstorming.

She's also been on the G. Gordon Liddy show about 20 times as a caller. They have her on caller ID! She's written to newspapers in the US and UK, magazines, TV news shows, authors, courts, governors, mayors, banks, businesses, numerous elected representatives nationwide, advertising agencies, transit authorities, to "enlighten, support or diplomatically chastise."

And as if that's not enough, she has two websites: Civilus Defendus and Sharia-Free America, the first for commentary and the second to promote political action. And she does all this while still holding down a job and taking care of her family! For her hard work and inspirational example, Civilus Defendus has earned the Citizen Warrior Hero Award.

Mark Thompson

A WRITER for Time Magazine, Mark Thompson, wrote a piece entitled, The Fort Hood Report: Why No Mention of Islam? In it he justifiably criticizes the U.S. military for being too politically correct. All along the career of Major Nidal Malik Hasan, there were clear signs that perhaps this man was a threat to his fellow soldiers and his country, but they were "studiously ignored" because of blind multiculturalism.

Accusing people in government of being willfully ignorant of the basic doctrines of Islam is usually something only bloggers do — not mainstream writers like Mark Thompson. It took courage to say something so politically incorrect, but it needed to be said (and still needs to be said, to as wide an audience as possible), as Thompson has done.

So we officially award Mark Thompson the Citizen Warrior Hero award. Thank you, PinkNeck, for the suggestion.

Bill Gates Tells The Truth

I HAVE BEEN reading The Women's Crusade in the New York Times, and came across the following passage and I knew I had to share it with you.

Bill Gates recalls once being invited to speak in Saudi Arabia and finding himself facing a segregated audience. Four-fifths of the listeners were men, on the left. The remaining one-fifth were women, all covered in black cloaks and veils, on the right. A partition separated the two groups. Toward the end, in the question-and-answer session, a member of the audience noted that Saudi Arabia aimed to be one of the Top 10 countries in the world in technology by 2010 and asked if that was realistic. “Well, if you’re not fully utilizing half the talent in the country,” Gates said, “you’re not going to get too close to the Top 10.” The small group on the right erupted in wild cheering.

Bill Gates is a citizen warrior hero. The article I've quoted here was written by Sheryl WuDunn and Nicholas D. Kristof, the authors of Half the Sky and the creators of the Girl Effect. I urge you to throw yourself into helping girls around the world. Go to the Girl Effect website and get involved. Recruit your friends and family into the cause. This is a purpose we can all get behind. Join the Girl Effect on FaceBook to get updates.

Senator Jon Kyl

Please contact Senator Jon Kyl to thank him for hosting Geert Wilders, the man responsible for the film Fitna, and who is touring the U.S. this week.

It is a courageous thing to do for a politician simply because Wilders is such a controversial figure with the media. But this is exactly the kind of thing we'd like to encourage in our politicians, so please give him you very best kudos. He deserves it. Contact Jon Kyl here.

Parents of Croham Hurst Students

Every little victory counts. Islamic supremacists are trying to wage jihad by gaining concessions. Every concession resisted is a victory. Every concession reversed is a victory. The parents of the children of Croham Hurst School have recently reversed a previous concession, and that makes them heroes in this fight.

For years, the school has been serving Halal meat, no doubt because of pressure from Muslims to be "multicultural." Muslims, wherever they are, constantly press for special consideration and accommodation. Parents never knew this concession had been made, but when they found out, they put pressure on the school to stop it, and they won.

You can read the story here: Halal Meat Taken Off School Menu.

I originally found the story at Islam In Action.

Charles Krauthammer

Every once in awhile someone writes a piece so clear and so persuasive, it is spontaneously shared far and wide and changes peoples' minds. Or at least loosens their self-righteous certainty, opening the way for new knowledge to leak in. Charles Krauthammer's article, Outreach, Yes. Apology, No. is just such a piece.

The article is about two comments Obama made, and how those comments reflect Obama's and many others' lack of knowledge about recent history. Obama's comments implied that the United States should apologize to the Muslim world for our disrespect of them. Here are a few excerpts from Krauthammer's piece:
In these most recent 20 years — the alleged winter of our disrespect of the Islamic world — America did not just respect Muslims, it bled for them. It engaged in five military campaigns, every one of which involved — and resulted in — the liberation of a Muslim people: Bosnia, Kosovo, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq.

The two Balkan interventions — as well as the failed 1992-93 Somalia intervention to feed starving African Muslims (43 Americans were killed) — were humanitarian exercises of the highest order, there being no significant U.S. strategic interest at stake. In these 20 years, this nation has done more for suffering and oppressed Muslims than any nation, Muslim or non-Muslim, anywhere on Earth. Why are we apologizing?

James Finch of the FBI

James Finch, Special Agent for the FBI, canceled a planned meeting with members of the Muslim Community Outreach Program. "Regrettably," he wrote in a letter to the group, "due to circumstances beyond my control, the meeting will be postponed until further notice as a result of the planned participation by the Oklahoma chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations."

"If CAIR wishes to pursue an outreach relationship with the FBI," the letter said, "certain issues must be addressed to the satisfaction of the FBI. Unfortunately, these issues cannot be addressed at the local level and must be addressed by the CAIR National Office in Washington, D.C."

Similar letters have been sent to other groups affiliated with CAIR, including CAIR chapters. The FBI is finally cutting off contact with CAIR because CAIR has clear ties to Hamas.

The FBI made this decision because of the things they discovered in the Holy Land Foundation trial. As Mary Jacoby writes, "CAIR and its chairman emeritus, Omar Ahmad, were named un-indicted co-conspirators in the HLF case. Both Ahmad and CAIR's current national executive director, Nihad Awad, were revealed on government wiretaps as having been active participants in early Hamas-related organizational meetings in the United States. During testimony, FBI agent Lara Burns described CAIR as a front organization."

For a long time, the FBI has bent over backwards to help and support CAIR's state chapters and the national organization (because CAIR is perpetually demanding special consideration for Muslims). This help and support "conferred legitimacy" onto CAIR. But no more. Jacoby says:
The HLF trial showed that CAIR was formed to covertly influence US opinions of the Palestinian conflict and Islam, but without revealing its connections to Hamas.

For example, prosecutors introduced transcripts of wiretaps from a 1993 meeting in Philadelphia of the Palestine Committee, called to order by Ahmad and attended by Awad. In that meeting, Ahmad and others discussed the need to create a new political organization seemingly unconnected to Hamas or the Brotherhood.

In one excerpt, an unidentified male said: "We must form a new organization for activism which will be neutral, because we are placed in a corner, we are place in a corner. It is known who we are, we are marked and I believe there should be a new neutral organization which works on both sides."

Defying Subjugation

Taliban thugs have made it a practice to ask Afghani girls if they're going to school. An innocent enough question. If the girl answers yes, the Talibani throws acid in her face, causing pain and scarring her for life.

After 11 students and 4 teachers were attacked this way, parents kept their girls home from school in Kandahar. The Taliban had moved into the area and advancing into the 21st century was out of the question.

But the headmaster, Mahmood Qadari, talked the parents into letting their girls come back to school. “I told them, if you don’t send your daughters to school, then the enemy wins,” Mr. Qadari said. “I told them not to give in to darkness. Education is the way to improve our society.”

The 1300 students have returned to class, defying Islamic subjugation and taking a stand for freedom.
